## Summary
Set the number of covers on a table or order, so service stays organized and guest counts remain visible during the shift.

## Before you begin
- Make sure the location uses floor plan or table-based service
- Open the correct table or order
- Confirm the user has access to table actions
- Decide whether covers should be set when the table is opened or updated later

## Steps
1. Open the floor plan or the relevant table order.
2. Select the table you want to update.
3. Open the covers action.
4. Enter the correct number of guests.
5. Save the change.
6. Review the table or order to confirm the cover count is visible.
7. Update the count later if the number of guests changes.

## Troubleshooting
- **Covers option is missing:** The location or user permissions may not support this action.
- **Wrong number of guests was entered:** Edit the table before continuing service.
- **Staff forgets to set covers:** Build it into your opening table workflow.
- **Cover count does not update:** Save again and confirm the order is still active.
- **Reports or service notes do not reflect covers clearly:** Review configuration and reporting behavior.
