Before you begin
- Confirm your account can access customers for the relevant location
- Use the most reliable identifier available: name, phone, or email
- Check similar results carefully before opening a profile
- Create a new customer from search only when your role has permission
Steps
- Open Customer Directory, or use the customer search action during checkout.
- Enter the customer name, phone number, or email address.
- Review the list or autocomplete results.
- Compare visible result details: name, phone, and email.
- Open the profile that matches the customer.
- Verify the profile before editing, attaching, or using it in checkout.
Troubleshooting
- No matching profile appears: Selio shows "No customers found"; confirm the detail you searched for and try another known identifier.
- Search cannot complete: If Selio shows "Search failed" or "No connection", check connectivity before retrying.
- Multiple profiles look similar: Compare name, phone, and email before choosing a result.
- A duplicate profile appears: Duplicates can exist if a new customer was created from search even though a matching profile already existed.
- A new customer is needed: Use the create action from search only if your account has permission to create customers.
